Michelle F. Viel, 64, of Peoria passed away Monday, October 13, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born on September 21, 1961, in Peoria to Paul and Willie Mae Cook Slaughter. Her parents; brother, Alan Slaughter and sister, Paulette Slaughter preceded her in death.
Michelle is survived by her children, Chances (Steve) Williams, Rashayla Brooks; grandchildren, Greyson Williams, Madison Moise; beloved companion, Curtis Weekley and brother, Hal Gene Slaughter.
She worked as a librarian for Bradley University until she retired in 2015 after 20 years.
Michelle loved her family and being with Curtis and going to concerts. She loved her daughter, Chances, very much and playing with her grandson, Greyson. Michelle enjoyed watching TV, dancing, Thanksgiving and backyard BBQs. She loved Bradley Braves Basketball.
Cremation has been accorded and private services will be held.
