Obituary for Michael Smith
Michael P. Smith, 54, of Eureka passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born June 22, 1963 in Peoria to James E. and Barbara A. McCartney Smith. He married Jill M. Wagner July 7, 2005 in Peoria County; she survives. He is also survived by is mother, Barbara A. McCartney Smith; sons, Isac Smith, Matthew Smith, Gregory (Sadie) Smith, Bobby Smith; step-daughters, Kelly McCabe, Kate McCabe; granddaughter, Lucille and brothers, Marty Smith and Steven Smith. His father and grandparents preceded him in death. Michael worked for Mitsubishi for 28 years retiring in November 2015. He was active in the Veteran Community and supported the Wheelchair Foundation where he donated money for wheelchairs for people and he also supported Smile Train. He loved his family especially his granddaughter, Lucille. Cremation has been accorded and a service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans in his name.
