Obituary for Michael Munger
Michael Munger of Roseville, IL left his earthly home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2020 due to a brief illness, at OSF Hospital in Peoria, IL. He was born Feb. 17, 1961 in Davenport, IA, to Maxine (Ramsey) and Roger Munger. He attended Moline High School. He was employed at Wonderbread in Davenport for several years. Then IAC in Iowa City for several years. He married Peggy Snyder, of Muscatine, in 1988. They raised their two sons in Davenport, IA. He loved being outdoors. Enjoying fishing, camping, and hunting. Also, enjoyed all kinds of recreational vehicles and tinkering with motors. He was an avid Chicago Sports fan. Especially cheering on the Cubs/Bears. He loved all kinds of music, and played a little bit of the fiddle, guitar, and harmonically. He loved spending time with his family most of all.
The family members that will honor his memory are his parents, Maxine and Wiley Barnes of Moline, IL; His siblings, Roger Munger of Moline, IL; Tami (Curt) Kasper of LeClaire, IA; Wiley Ray Jr. (Diana) Barnes of Galesburg, IL; His longtime friend, Lisa (Bill)Hammond of Peru, IL; His Children, Megan (Brad) Gillette of Pontiac, IL; Jonathan Hammond of Peru, IL; Taler (Ryan) Simpson, of Fort Walton Beach, FL; His ex-wife, Peggy Munger of Muscatine, IA; Cory (Jennifer) Munger of Muscatine, IA; Eric (Kenya Muniz) Munger of Davenport, IA. Grandchildren: Ian, Camden, Natalie, and Grayson of Pontiac, IL; Caroline and Elliott of Fort Walton Beach, FL; Ethan, Claire, and Charlotte of Muscatine, IA. Along with his nieces, nephews, and many close cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger. A celebration of life service will be held at a future date.
