Obituary for Michael Leroy Rockey
Michael Leroy Rockey, 76, of Peoria passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Accolade Healthcare of East Peoria.
He was born June 28, 1945, in Peoria to O.L. and Dorothy A. Swan Rockey. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Joseph Matarelli; brother, Gregory Rockey and former spouse, Jill Green Parlier Rockey.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Nicole) Rockey, William (Marci) Rockey; stepdaughter, Joilee Parlier St. Jean; stepson, Michael (Kari) Parlier; seven grandchildren; sisters, Corlyn Rockey Gavin, Patricia Rockey Betson and many cousins and friends.
Michael worked for Interstate Brands retiring in December 2007.
Mike graduated from Manual High School where he excelled in football and baseball, he was voted best pitcher in the Mid State 8. He was later inducted into the Peoria Area Sports Hall of Fame. He loved to fish and play golf. He had many friends and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He married the love of his life in 2001 and was by her side when she passed away in 2009. He had many friends of all ages and was known as a great Karaoke singer. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held.
