Obituary for Maude Ann Canham
Ann Canham was an independent and intelligent person who never shied away from speaking her mind. She always had a story to share from her travels in Europe as a young woman in 1956, imparting on her children and grandchildren the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new experiences. Ann along with her late husband, John K. Canham, took pride in running their family pharmacy with the help of their children.

She was a talented artist. She was an expert tailor and dressmaker. Throughout her life, she won several awards, including the Governor’s Prize from the Heart of Illinois State Fair and the several from Stitcher’s Guild for quilting, knitting, embroidery, and needlepoint.

Ann’s unwavering faith in God is witnessed by her lifelong service to her church. She was both a Deacon and Elder in the Presbyterian Church.

Ann is survived by her two children, John and Kris, her daughter in law, Rhonda, her grandchildren, Grant and Grace, and Bry (Grace’s fiancé).

A private ceremony was held at United Presbyterian Church in Peoria on Saturday, April 30th. Minister Rev. Laura Reason officiated. Her ashes are interred in the Memory Gardens with her beloved husband at the United Presbyterian Church.

Her wishes were that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to:
The Snack Pack at United Presbyterian Church
2400 W. Northmoor Rd.
Peoria, IL 61614

The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at csmico.com
