Mary Kathryn (Hoelzel) Willock of Tremont died on Monday August 31, 2009 at 11:30a.m. at home with family. She was born in Moline, IL on January 23, 1943 to Raymond A. and Stella Leas Klaffke. She married Robert A. Hoelzel in 1966. He preceded her in death. She married Thurman L. Willock in 1997. He died in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son; Robert A. Hoelzel Jr. and one brother; Ronald A. Klaffke. May they rest in peace. Survivors include one son; Hans Hoelzel, Washington, IL, five daughters; Kathy (Garry) Mock, Forsyth, IL, Lilly (Lee) Dorsey, Bartonville, IL, Mary Terese (Harry) Hawkins, Gold Canyon, AZ, Sarah R. Hoelzel, West Peoria, IL, and Julia Bautista, Peoria, IL, ten grandsons, four granddaughters, two great-grandsons, one brother; Gerald R. Klaffke, Melbourne, FL, one sister-in-law; Mary Kay Klaffke, Orion, IL, one niece and one nephew. She attended Marycrest College in Davenport, IA.
She graduated from Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing in 1965. She obtained her BSN from St. Frances Medical Center College of Nursing. She worked as an RN for 42 years in Moline, Chicago and retired from Pekin Hospital in 2007 after 39 ½ years there. A funeral mass will be held on Friday September 4, 2009 at 11a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Pekin, IL, Father Patrick Fixsen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be held at Abts Mortuary on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Pekin Hospital or Pekin Oncology. Abts Mortuary has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
