Obituary for Mary Virginia Everett
Mary Virginia Everett, 96, of Peoria passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at JC Proctor Endowment Home in Peoria.
She was born December 22, 1924 in Memphis, TN to Frederick J. and Estelle D. Edrington Harrell. She married Dr. Marcus James Everett December 23, 1944 in Grosse Pointe, MI.
Her spouse Dr. Marcus J. Everett, her son John Harvey Everett and infant daughter Mary Sue Everett preceded Mary in death.
She is survived by her children, Mark D. Everett of Wichita, KS, James F. (Christine) Everett of Peoria, IL, Jeffrey W. (Jane) Everett of Eloy, AZ, and Paul M. (Theresa) Everett of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Mary was a Deacon and 65 plus year member of United Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter KX and D.A.R. and she volunteered for the Republican Party and at the Proctor Hospital Gift Shop. She was a former President of Newcomers Club, Wilder Waite Parents Club and Peoria Medical Auxiliary.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at United Presbyterian Church in Peoria. Pastor Debra Avery will officiate. COVID guidelines will be followed, and facemask will be required.
