Obituary for Mary Jane Arterberry
Mary Jane Arterberry 94, of Manor Care Health Services in Peoria formally of 504 Country Club Dr. Pekin passed away on Friday May 8, 2009 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born in Peoria on September 9, 1914 to David and Eva Finley Stambaugh. She married Eugene Arterberry in Peoria on October 22, 1935. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1995. Also preceding where her sisters. She is survived by her son Daniel (Karen) Arterberry of Pekin, daughter Mary Jane “Janie” Hubbard of Lacon, grandchildren; Kathleen Hubbard of Atlanta, GA, Kevin (Jacquelyn) of Denver, CO, Christopher (Trina) Hubbard of Mackinaw and her 3 great grandchildren; Maeve Hubbard of Atlanta, GA and Luke and John Hubbard both of Mackinaw. Mary Jane was a Homemaker and a charter member of the Pekin Hospital League, former member of the Pekin Country Club and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where she was on the Council of Catholic Women. A funeral mass will be held for her on Tuesday May 12, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be on Monday the 11th from 6 to 7 p.m. at Abts Mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made in her name to the St. Joseph School Endowment Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
