Obituary for Mary Fletcher
Mary Elizabeth Fletcher, 93, of Pekin passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Morton Villa. She was born June 1, 1919 in Stone, KY to James and Geneva Blackburn Chapman. She married Jerry Fletcher, he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her only child, her daughter, Neva Morris; son-in-law, Albert Morris; grandson, Matthew Morris; great-grandson, Abram Wood; parents; brother, Shelton Chapman and sister, Juanita Whittacker. She is survived by her grandchildren, G. Tracy (Pam) Morris of Bath, M. Kathleen (Larry) Wood of Shirley, AR, Kristine (Ron) Nyberg of Marquette Heights, Kyle Morris of Marquette Heights; eleven great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; sister, Lillian Crain of Vinton, IA and brother, Charles Chapman of Chicago. Mary lived at Kitty Knight House in Maryland and worked at the defense plant during WWII. She later worked and retired from Simpson Electric in Aurora, IL. She lived at the UAW in Pekin for 31 years. She enjoyed watching golf and the Kentucky Wild Cats and Chicago Bulls playing basketball. She will be greatly missed by her family, especially her Ray of Sunshine, Red and Baby. Cremation has been accorded and graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Laurel Hills Cemetery in Havana.
