Obituary for Martha McLaughlin
Martha B. Skaggs Drake McLaughlin, 80, of Pekin passed away Wednesday February 1, 2012 at Pekin Manor. She was born October 11, 1931 in Pekin to Fred and Nellie Stewart Skaggs. She married Edward Drake May 11, 1952, he preceded her in death October 31, 1961. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She later married Maurice McLaughlin in Pekin November 16, 1962. He survives along with her son, Edward “Rick” (Susie) Drake; sister, Clelea Hoyle; her favorite niece, Sandi (Bill) Hunsinger; nephews, Fred (Joanne) Hoyle, David (Becky) Hoyle, Bret (Amy) Epkins, Chris (Lori) Epkins, Kevin (Tammy) Epkins and step-daughter, Gail (Ed) Roth. Martha worked at Pekin Hospital and Centel Telephone Company, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed bowling, fishing and traveling. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pekin where a Memorial Service will be held Saturday February 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation in her name.
