Obituary for Martha "Marty" Ellen White
Martha “Marty” Ellen White, 68, of Canton passed away at 4:07 pm, Monday, November 11, 2019 at Graham Hospital.
She was born on June 24, 1951 in Canton to Myron “Jack” and JoAnn (Johnston) White. She was preceded in death by her mother. Surviving are her father, Jack, sister Rhonda Vogel, brother-in-law, Matthew, nephews Nicholas (Katie) and Jacob Vogel.
Marty touched many lives and she never knew a stranger. She opened her heart with love to all. Her passion was to tutor students. She helped so many students of all ages and always saw their many talents. She volunteered many hours of calling for funeral dinners and Meals on Wheels. She taught Sunday School at the First Baptist Church for over 40 years and was an avid Canton sports fan. She was a Friendship Festival Parade Marshall, a YWCA Women of Achievement recipient and Canton Chamber of Commerce 1996 Citizen of the Year.
A celebration of life will be Friday, November 29, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Canton, Fellowship Hall.
