Obituary for Marta Joy Darling
Marta Joy Darling, age 69, of Peoria passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.
Marta was born on September 26, 1951, in Peoria to Robert and Arlene Largent Darling. She married Alvin Gene Butler. They all preceded her in death. Also preceding her was one brother, Richard Darling and son, Robert “Bobby” James Teague II.
Surviving are sisters, Pamela Darling-Norman, Karla Darling; brother, Robert Darling II; children, Tyler (Sara) Teague, Andre Teague, Brandy Butler, Arianna Butler; eleven grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.
She graduated from Bradley University in 1990. Marta was employed with District 150, retiring in 2012 after 22 years of teaching.
Marta was known for her witty sense of humor and the ability to make you smile. She had a very calming spirit. Marta loved her family dearly and always looked forward to spending time with them. Marta also loved her animals. She will be missed very much by her family and friends.
Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Second Chance Church 3300 W. Willow Knolls Dr., Peoria, IL 61614, Please enter through the office entrance.
