Obituary for Mark Alan Thomson

Mark Alan Thomson, 61 of Peoria, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31st, 2025, at OSF hospital in Peoria, IL.


Mark was born on May 6th, 1963, in Peoria, IL at OSF to Terrance "Terry" Hoyland & Mary Thomson (Crosier).


He is survived by both his parents Terry (Donna) Hoyland & Mary Crosier, One son Matthew Thomson (Sarah Lamb), One Grandson Jace Thomson, Two Sisters Trina (Randy) Hancock & Christy (Byron) Delaware, and also several nieces and nephews.


His stepfather Lester "Cork" Crosier, One sister Shellie Crosier, and Two brothers Patrick Minnerly & Winton "Tony" Minnerly all preceded him in death.


Mark spent most of his career in the automotive field where he held many certificates and awards within the automotive industry.


He loved all his family and friends. Mark always treated his friends as his family and for that he had several friends he embraced as his brothers and sisters.


Mark over the years enjoyed doing many things like stock car racing, demolition derby, going to motorcycle races and loved watching his Tampa Bay Buccaneers play.


Although Mark passed away in his hometown of Peoria, IL his heart was always often living in Florida with dreams of retiring back there someday.


Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
