Obituary for Marilyn Thome
Marilyn J. Thome, 75, of Pekin passed away Friday, February 1, 2013 in Washington. She was born April 8, 1937 in Pekin to Melvin J. and Vera M. McDonald Behrends. She married Art Thome October 16, 1992 in Pekin. He preceded her in death August 16, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sons, Chris Fardel of Pekin, Roger “Rocky” Fardel of Pekin; grandchildren, Zach Fardel of Pekin, Dustin Fardel of Pekin, Dallas Fardel of Pekin; great-grandson, Zander Fardel of Pekin; brother, Melvin (June) Behrends of Pekin; sister, Joan Stickle of Decatur; several nieces and nephews and her extended family, Carolyn and Vince Kasky, Teri Minton, Brittany and Curt Evans, Seth and Brooke Minton, Brooke Chandler, Lilly Evans, Bentley Minton, Kurt and Gavin. Marilyn worked in Patient Registration at Pekin Hospital, retiring in 2012. She enjoyed dining out with her close friends. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Abts Mortuary in Pekin at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Fr. Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin at a later date. Memorials may be made to T.A.P.S. animal shelter in her name.
