Obituary for Lynn Eugene McDonald
Lynn Eugene McDonald, 80, of Morton, IL passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
He was born July 24, 1943, in Springfield, IL to Herbert and Margorie McDonald. His parents and son, Mark McDonald preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dill McDonald; son, Craig McDonald; daughter, Santana Zernel; brother, Stanley McDonald; two stepchildren, Cherie (Chuck) McWherter, Michael Slavens; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He served 20 years in the U.S. Army retiring in 2003. He was a member of Eastside Bible Church and Timberlake Club of Peoria. He loved volunteering at Timberlake with the Wednesday crew doing odd jobs and cleaning up for the club. He found time to go fishing and fellowship with fellow campers at Timberlake. He was a lifetime Cardinal fan celebrating his 80th birthday at Busch Stadium.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, followed by Military Honors at Eastside Bible Church in Morton.
