Obituary for Lorraine C. Weghorst
Lorraine C. Weghorst 95, of Pekin passed away on Saturday January 24, 2009 at Pekin Hospital. Born in Pekin on August 27, 1913 to Henry and Katherine Grossweiler Toel. She married Alfred F. Weghorst on April 29, 1933, he preceded her in death on March 19, 1992. Also preceding her in death were her brother Henry “Bud” Toel, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter. She is survived by her Children; Patricia (Warren) Gay and Richard (Donna) Weghorst both of Pekin and her nine grand, fifteen great grand and four great great grandchildren. Lorraine was a Homemaker and also worked as a Tax Assessor for eleven years for Bat Lowman and Frank Wrhel. She was a member of the Ladies of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where she served on the League of Catholic Woman. Lorraine enjoyed sewing and crossword puzzles and most recently took up the hobby of drawing. A funeral mass will be held for her on Wednesday January 28, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation from 9 to 10:30 also at the church. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to her church.
