Linda Mae Scudder, 77, of Peoria, Illinois went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2025. Linda was born on September 8, 1947 to Earl and Betty Wynn and was raised Methodist. She graduated from Manual High School and attended Bradley University, which inspired her interest in American history. On May 23, 1969, she married Frank Scudder who was the love of her life for 36 years. Together Linda and Frank owned and operated Linda’s Vacuum Center. Linda recently retired after over 50 years in business.
Surviving Linda are her son Justin Scudder of Peoria and daughter Amy (and Jeff) Bokal of Vonore, TN as well as step children Deb Richardson (and her husband Dr. Patrick Elwood) of Peoria, Steve Scudder of Peoria, Frankie Scudder of Peoria, Michelle (and Ryan) Webb of Elmwood and Tony Hill of AZ.
Linda is also survived by grandchildren Lily Scudder of Peoria and Andrew and Kayla Bokal of TN as well step grandchildren Christine (and Nick) Brown of Belleville, Randy (and Brandy) Richardson of Peoria, Aisha Devera of NV, Tripper Scudder of GA, Clayton McNeil of Peoria, Emily McNeil of Elmwood and Tony Hill’s children Cecelia, Miles, Elizabeth, John, Joseph, Juliana, Veronica, and Mary. Linda will be missed by many other friends and family members.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Betty Wynn, husband Frank Scudder, sister Sue Ann Williams, grandson Zac Bokal, step granddaughter Hannah McNeil and step grandson Ronnie Richardson.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private service will be held at a later date. Linda’s and Frank’s ashes will be interred at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Peoria.
Linda loved animals especially her Scottish terriers Buster and Toby and her cat Jordan. Memorials may be made to TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter (Tazewell Animal Protective Society), 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554.
