Obituary for Lillian Allen
Lillian C. Allen, 100, of Dunlap, IL passed away Monday April 2, 2012 at her residence. She was born July 16, 1911 in Bradford, IL. She married Edward W. Allen in St. Louis, MO on March 17, 1948. He preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Jenny Cushing of Chillicothe, IL who raised her. She is survived by her daughter, Frances (Donald Dike) Britton of Dunlap, IL; her grandchildren she loved very much, grandson, Marcus (Beth) Wilder Britton of Peoria, IL; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Ian, Emily and grandchildren, Brit and Jimmy Howard. She is also survived by her cat and constant companion, Brillo. Lillian was a published poet. She worked for Dr. Sutton and Dr. Green in Chillicothe, IL and was a clerk for the City of Chillicothe, IL. The family would like to thank Dr. Edward Pritzker and the Methodist Hospice Staff for all of their care. Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held Thursday April 12, 2012 at Mt. Hawley Cemetery in Peoria, IL at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Peoria, IL in her name.
