Obituary for Lewis Geier
Lewis Andrew Geier, 84, of Washington passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.
He was born August 30, 1935 in Peoria to Joseph and Elanor Dubois Geier.
He married Patricia Ann Mace November 15, 1958 in Pekin. He later married Sandra Sipes February 9, 1973; she preceded him in death January 1, 2018.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald Geier, Bernard Geier and sister, Marcie Ulm.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Terry) Probyn, Lori Geier, Stan (Ruth) Geier, Steve Mathias, Tim (Medea) Mathias; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Genevieve Reeves; several nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved dog, Brody.
Lewis served in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1953-1961.
He worked as the maintenance supervisor for Grace Presbyterian Church. Lewis enjoyed dartball, woodworking and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a practical joker and had a wonderful sense of humor.
He was a member of Groveland Missionary Church where a memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 2 p.m. with visitation ½ prior at the church. Pastor Marvin Claassen will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Groveland Missionary Church in his name.
