Obituary for Larry Gene Lasley Sr.
Larry Gene Lasley Sr. 63, of Pekin passed away on Friday August 14, 2009 at Pekin Hospital. Born in Pekin on July 9, 1946 to Lawrence and Freda Mae Stevens Lasley. He is survived by his significant other, Gail Vanderwulp of Pekin, children; Larry (Shannon) Lasley Jr. of Groveland, Tina Lasley Scott of Peoria, Rachel (Joseph) Bakotic of Topeka, Tim (Lynn) Horner of Dahinda, J.R. (Becky) Horner of Yates City, Tony (Jeannie) Horner of Elvins, MO, Matthew Vanderwulp and Emily Vanderwulp both of Pekin, siblings; Norma Bosley, Viola Randolph and Roy (Laura) Lasley all of Pekin and Billy Joe (Jane) Lasley of South Pekin. His 5 grandchildren also survive. His parents and brothers; Richard Smith and Clifford, Delbert and William Lasley preceded him in death. Larry served in the U.S. Army and was the owner of American Appliance for 10 years, retiring in 2008. He was known to all as “Uncle Larry” and his greatest gift was love. Cremation has been accorded and there will be a celebration of life picnic held on Saturday August 29, at the Pekin Park at noon.
