Obituary for Kip I. Jordan
Kip I. Jordan, 74, of Peoria, passed away at his home on February 7, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 3, 1946 in Peoria, IL to Clare I. and Annette D. Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Kip is survived by four children - Richard (fiancee, Kandice Finch) Jordan of Groveland, IL; Christine Jordan of Bakersfield, CA; Amy (Jason) Erwin of Peoria; and Kimberly (Erik) Shipman of Pekin, IL; as well as his long-time girlfriend, Calista Reed of Peoria. He is survived by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Maribeth Grafelman of Kewanee, IL; Lynn (Tom) Keith of Punta Gorda, FL; and one brother, Kim Jordan of Clermont, FL.

Kip began his 55-year career in the electrical design and construction industry as an electrician working for his father’s Peoria business, C. Jordan Electric. He went on to work around the country in a number of roles with multiple electrical contractors and consulting engineering firms. Returning to Peoria in 1988 he served as Branch Manager for Beling Consultants, and then from 1996-2005 he worked as a Project Manager/Electrical Designer for Lankton, Ziegle, Terry - Architects and Engineers. Since 2005, Kip worked for Dewberry Engineers in Peoria as Senior Electrical Engineer. He designed projects ranging from high voltage utility and industrial power distribution systems to electrical systems for communication, lighting and control. His clients included large correctional institutions, health care networks, the U.S. military, colleges and universities, and several Fortune 100 companies. Kip took great pride in providing specialized solutions to complex projects for clients. He was well known and highly respected in design and construction circles.

Cremation rites will be accorded. The family will have a private celebration of life ceremony.
