Obituary for Kevin Kolditz
Kevin James Kolditz, 61, passed away surrounded by family and friends on October 15, 2019. Kevin was born in Peoria on August 2nd, 1958, to James R. Kolditz and Margaret J. Ehrhart of Peoria who preceded him in death. Kevin’s grandparents, Rolland and Clarice Kolditz, and Melvin and Florence Ehrhart, also preceded him in death.
Kevin embodied many honorable traits. As a hardworking family man, he ran his own ceramic tile business for over 40 years. In earlier years, he coached his son in the youth hockey league. Kevin also played hockey for many years himself. In later years, Kevin remained ever present through daily communication with his kids and was overjoyed to become a grandfather. Kevin was a lover of swimming, hockey, and was a talented cook, who loved everything from baking to grilling. He had a big heart for others, too. Always selfless, you could find him riding his bike through Norwood to help his neighbors. If one word could describe Kevin in completeness it would be genuine.
Kevin is survived by his wife Kristal L. Kolditz, two daughters, Kori Kolditz and Keri (Jerod) Cunningham, and one son, Karson (Brandy Malott). Kevin has two granddaughters, Naomi and Whitney Cunningham. Also surviving are two sisters, Debbie (Luke) Fry of Jacksonville, IL and Denise (Leon) December of New York City, NY.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 2, 2019, from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Glen Oak Christian Church, 1115 E. Republic St. A private burial will follow at Springdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kevin’s go fund me page https://www.gofundme.com/f/kevin-kolditz?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet.
