Obituary for Kathryn Ann Ashby
Kathryn Ann Ashby, 72, of Bartonville passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at her residence.
She was born March 23, 1949, in Quincy to Dale S. and Alma Nell Tate Swank.
She married Roger M. Ashby January 17, 1970, in Peoria; he preceded her in death January 18, 2017. Her parents also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Roger Michael (Dawn) Ashby; daughter, Lisa K. Johnson; grandchildren, Quentin Ashby, Tyler Ashby, Dominic Johnson, Mallory Johnson, Chace Ashby; great-grandchildren, Jessa, Quincy, Quade, Lola, Lyle, and many dear friends.
Kathryn worked as a Victims Advocate and Administrative Assistant to the Chief for the Bartonville Police Department retiring in September 2017.
Kathryn was the backbone of her family and she loved them very much. She was a very dedicated and active member of the Bartonville community for many years, serving on the Fire Department and then on the Police Department. Kathryn started many programs in the community that still exist today. She never knew a stranger.
Cremation has been accorded and a visitation will be held at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021, with dinner to follow at Bartonville Christian Church 4900 W. Pfeiffer Road, Bartonville, IL 61607.
Memorials may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
