Obituary for Judith "Judy" A. Burnett

Judith A. Burnett “Judy”, 73, of East Peoria, IL formerly of Brimfield, IL passed away and went to join the love of her life Jacob “Jake” Dehne Jr., on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. She passed away at her residence surrounded by her family.


Judy was born on October 29, 1950, to Charles “Bill” Whitmore and Dorothy Curlock.


She met the love of her life Jake in 1989. Judy and Jake have been together since then until he passed away on February 2, 2006.


She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Delores Deppermann; two daughters, Tammy Burnett (Bridson) and Julie Burnett, and her fiancé, Jacob “Jake” Dehne Jr.


She is survived by four children, Craig (Dawn) Burnett of East Peoria, IL, Ashley (George Hill III) Dehne of Pekin, IL, James Burnett of East Peoria, IL, and Veda Burnett of Elmwood, IL; five grandchildren; one brother, Clifford (Laura) Whitmore of Canton, IL; one sister, Debra (Mike) Keller of New Windsor, IL and many nieces and nephews.


Judy was big about family and loved her family very much. She enjoyed being outside and loved flower gardens. She enjoyed fishing. In her younger years she had her own beauty shop in her basement, she enjoyed cutting hair. She then became a CNA and worked as one for many years until retirement. She enjoyed staying busy. She also enjoyed time with her grand fur babies, Sadie, and Bailey. She spent time watching soap operas in her later years and had a huge love for God. She enjoyed watching butterflies and hummingbirds outside. Judy had a heart of gold and loved lending a hand when she could.


Judy was a wonderful mother, and we will miss her dearly.


Per her wishes cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.


The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at csmico.com
