Obituary for Joshua Stien
Joshua J. Stien 26, of Pekin passed away Saturday July 23, 2011 at his residence. He was born October 8, 1984 to Denny and Linda Bradshaw Stien in Peoria. He was preceded in death by his grandfather; Jack Bradshaw and grandmother; Barbara Stien. He is survived by his parents; Denny and Linda Stien of Pekin, brother; Nathan (Liz) Stien of Normal, IL, grandmother; Dorothy Bradshaw and grandfather; Harry Stien. He is also survived by several uncles, aunts and cousins. Joshua played baseball and took karate at the Boys and Girls Club. He then played little league baseball until high school. He decided to stay with band which he started in 5

grade. He was in every band they offered in high school and was section leader in most. He played the trumpet then the tuba until college. He was very active in JROTC all 4 years working up to Commanding Officer his senior year. He was captain of the rifle team and on the debate team. He did more community service in high school and college than most people do in a lifetime. At The Ohio State University he was in Army ROTC and on the rifle team which he won awards for. He was a member of the Pershing Rifle Fraternity. He was also a member of the Free Masons and the Shriners. He was currently attending ICC. He loved his family and friends very much including Bert and Macy, our dogs. Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday July 30, 2011 from 1 to 4 pm at the Creve Coeur Christian Church 101 Thorncrest in Creve Coeur. Joshua’s cousin, Rev Anthony Cobb will be speaking. Memorials may be made to T.A.P.S.
