Obituary for John Rinaldi
John Rinaldi, 91, of Pekin passed away Friday September 28, 2012 at Pekin Hospital. He was born January 26, 1921 in Tallamello, Italy to Lazzaro and Eurosia Zerbini Rinaldi. He married Angeline Massini April 15, 1950. She preceded him in death August 15, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Josephine Rinaldi and Lelia Duez. He is survived by his son, Gary (Linda) Rinaldi of Pekin; daughters, Christine (Kim) Joesting of Pekin, Patricia Hard of Normal; grandchildren, John Rinaldi, Anna Rinaldi-Miles, Burton, Jed, Nicholas and Andrew Joesting and Jennifer Hanold. He is also survived by his nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. John served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he served in the European Theatre in France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He worked for Herget Bank for 42 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Moose, American Legion and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. His love of life was spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, gardening and dancing with his wife, Angeline. Visitation for John will be held Tuesday October 2, 2012 at Abts Mortuary in Pekin from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with the funeral mass following at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin at 11 a.m. Fr. Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Memorials may be made to the church in his name.
