Obituary for John Norman Lela II
John Norman Lela II 70, of Peoria Heights passed away on Saturday October 11, 2008 at his home. Born in Macomb on December 7, 1937 to John and Helma Mary Kennedy Lela. He married Vicky Groom in Peoria on February 17, 1975, she preceded him in death on December 29, 2003. Also preceding were his parents and his brother. John is survived by his children; John (Cathy) Lela, Joe (Deborah) Oberheizer both of Peoria, Mary (Steve) Bouchez of Pekin, Sara (Aaron) Lela of Marquette Heights, Anthony Lela of Peoria Heights, 16 grand and 10 great grandchildren, 3 nephews and 1 niece. John was an Accountant at L & W Auto Sales, retiring in 2004 and a member of the Iron Crossman Motorcycle Club. Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday October 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the AMVETS Post 235, 1426 S. 2nd St. Pekin. Memorials may be made to his family. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
