John “Jack” William McNaught, 84, of Morton passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
He was born March 31, 1939, in Kewanee to Francis “Spike” and Wilma “Cladys” Schmittler McNaught. He married Ruth Ann Willis and later married Jane A. Gustafson Jackson. He was preceded in death by his previous wives; parents; sisters, Cheryl Eilers, Rita Anthony and stepdaughter, Jodie Smith.
He married Danna R. Dowell Smith on July 5, 2014; she survives. He is also survived by his children, David (Rhonda) McNaught, Chris (Robert) Bolander, Jeffrey McNaught, Jill (Carl) Enchelmayer; stepchildren, Jamie Kolar, Brad (Lisa) Smith, Bryan Smith; grandchildren, Abby McNaught, Allison Enchelmayer, Kyle Enchelmayer, Chelsea Sanko, Doug Taylor, Nick Martin, Megan Vaughn; step grandchildren, Chloe Kolar, Brooke Moore, Marvin Moore, Freddie Moore, Lauren Smith, Arek Smith, Alissa Smith, Amanda Smith; great-grandchildren, Ian Martin, Amelia Martin, Abriella Moore, Liam Sanko; siblings, Eldon McNaught, Barb Dykema and many nieces and nephews.
Jack graduated from Kewanee High School in 1957. He retired from Caterpillar, East Peoria in 2001 after 35 years, retired from Ben Schwartz IGA after 25 years and post-retirement career St. Francis OSF courier retired after 8 years.
Jack was elected Emeritus Elder at Glen Oak Christian Church. He donated lots of blood to the American Red Cross and was the East Bluff Neighborhood Board President. He had countless hours of volunteerism.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 11 a.m. with family receiving friends one hour prior at Glen Oak Christian Church 1115 E. Republic St., Peoria, IL 61603.
Memorial donations may be made to Illinois Center for Autism in his name.
