Obituary for John "Jack" Marion Boland
John “Jack” Marion Boland, 90, of Peoria passed away Monday, November 1, 2021, at UnityPoint Health Proctor in Peoria.
He was born October 21, 1931, in Peoria to Daniel Paul and Gertrude Fern Estep Boland.
He married Darlene DeFoer; she preceded him in death. His parents; brother, Ron Boland; sisters, Mary McCall, Katherine Heinold and sons, John Boland and Steve Clark also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughters, Paula Mueller (Gene Pratt) of Peoria, IL, Joyce Reck (Jack Reck) of Algonquin, IL, Karen Puyear of West Dundee, IL; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
John served in the U.S. Army and retired from Caterpillar. He was a Boy Scout Leader, member of the Chillicothe Sportsman’s Club and volunteered at Proctor Hospital as an escort.
John was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband. He enjoyed walking and was an avid gardener and loved fishing and mushroom hunting. John restored antique furniture and was a dealer for many years.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Peoria Honor Flight in his name.
