Obituary for John "Jack" LeRoy Harris
John LeRoy Harris to all known as Jack - born October 18th, 1937 passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th, 2022 at his home surrounded by the ones he cherished most. Jack was proceeded in death by his parents John and Evelyn (McMullen) Harris. He is survived by his wife Sue (Kail) Harris, married December 30th,1961; son John (Hunter) LeRoy Harris Jr.' daughter Stacy McDonald (Buzz), granddaughters Cassandra Hankins (Josh) and Caitlin Cady (Trent); and three great grandchildren Kenley Pilgrim, Sydney and Sawyer Hankins. Jack served in the Army reserves, graduated from East Peoria High School and attended Bradley University. He had a great love for golfing, fishing, gardening and hunting mushrooms. Jack was a fourth generation East Peoria High School alumni with three generations following. Jack and his family have long ties to the community. Jack holds the course record for the lowest round of golf played at Fon du lac golf course. He retired from the Brass foundry (Cast Technology). Jack was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Jack will be cremated. and his ashes will be spread at his beloved lake. Per Jack's wishes no services will be held. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co.
