Obituary for John Hayn
John C. Hayn, 70, of Green Valley passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin. He was born December 25, 1942 in Kampsville, IL to Edward and Anita Daniels Hayn. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Janet. He is survived by his mother, Anita Holeman of Pekin; siblings, Gene (Lydia) Hayn of Nampa, ID, Rosemary (Bruce) Baker of Lowpoint, Joseph Hayn of Green Valley, Barbara (Francis) Flynn of Toluca, Mary Snyder of Forest City, Patty Haynes of Pekin, Renee (Scott) Gregory of Manito, Diana (Tadd) Stout of Bartonville, Catherine Null of Pekin; twenty-one nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved cats, Tom Tom and Fluffy. John worked as a Laborer out of Local 231. He was an accomplished artist, builder and gardener, an avid fisherman, Bears and Cubs fan, a jack of all trades and a wild animal and cat lover. He was a beloved son and brother and will be dearly missed. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5, at 2 p.m. at the Moose Lodge Banquet Hall in Pekin followed by a celebration of life until 5 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Wildlife Federation or TAPS in his name.
