Obituary for John Charles Robertson
John “Long John”, “Mr. John”, “John Boy”, “Johnny Robertson” Charles Robertson, 89, of Peoria passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Generations at Riverview in East Peoria.
He was born September 23, 1931 in Boone County, AR to Eddy T. and Lola Jane Edwards Robertson. His parents; stepfather, Jay Devereaux; brother, James Thomas Robertson and sister, Oleta Sue Robertson preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Linda (David) Smith, Betty (Gary) Hall; five grandchildren; half siblings, Joe (Virginia) Devereaux, Jane (Wayne) Smith and many nieces and nephews.
John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked for Caterpillar retiring in 1982. He loved watching westerns and enjoyed listening to the CB Radio, eating out, driving his truck while listening to country music especially Roy Clarks “Thank God & Gray Hound”.
Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date.
