Obituary for Johanna Pierson
Johanna “Sugar” Clara Pierson, 82, of Bellevue passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria. She was born June 8, 1936 in Peoria to William and Eleanor Black Whitby. She married Billie Gene Pierson October 17, 1953 in Peoria; he survives. She is also survived by her children, Barbara Kellington, Brent (Melody) Pierson, Greg (Sherry) Pierson, eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and brother, Darrell (Debbie) Whitby. Her parents; two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Johanna worked as a beautician for many years. She enjoyed puzzles but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful seamstress and cook; known for her homemade noodles. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion in Bartonville. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
