Obituary for Joanne Belfield
Joanne F. Belfield 73, of Peoria passes away on Wednesday March 17, 2010 at her residence. Born in Peoria on March 9, 1937 to Harry and Hazel Symonds Ford. She married Charles H. Belfield on June 9, 1962. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2008. Her parents and brothers: Raymond, Eugene, Wilbur Dale, Kenneth and Donald also preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Steven (Debra) Belfield, granddaughters Ashley and Kassi all of Mapleton, sisters Martha (George) Josenhans of Peoria, Louise (Rolland) Pauli of Peoria Heights, brother Everett Ford of Hanna City and several nieces and nephews. She was a dedicated teacher who inspired many and was loved by all in the Peoria Heights School District where she taught for 45 years from 1959 to 2004. Joanne was a beautiful person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved being with Steve, Debbie, Ashley and Kassi who meant the world to her. She was the family Photographer and shared the memories among family and friends. Joanne was a die hard Cubs fan and a lover of all sports and enjoyed watching her granddaughters in all their sports and school activities. She loved to fish in Minnesota with her husband and family and playing cards and board games. Cremation has been accorded and a visitation will be held on Friday March 26, at the St. Peters Lutheran Church in Glasford from 3 to 5:30 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 5:30. Pastor John A Schurter will officiate. Fellowship will follow the service. The family would like to send a special thank you to OSF Hospice for sending them (Jan) the special angel who helped so much. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to OSF Hospice, St. Peters Lutheran Church or the Illini Bluffs Sports Boosters.
