Jewell Marie Turney 76, of Pekin, IL passed away Sunday October 2, 2011 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria, IL. She was born August 3, 1935 in Jackson, TN to Clifford F. and Jewell E. Massengil Terry. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters. She is survived by her 7 children, Arletta (Kent) Shaw of Washington, IL, Barbara (Phillip) Grey of Port Orchard, WA, William (Tarcy) Turney of rural Farmington, IL, Jerry (Geniver) Turney of Peoria, IL, Terry (Steve) Jannsen of Springfield, OH, Zelma Hall of Pekin, IL, and Allan (Lisa Davis) Turney of Pekin, IL. She is also survived by her 26 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 sister, Hazel Williams of Springfield, IL. She worked for Social Services for the State of Illinois. Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held Monday October 10, 2011 at 11 am at the Embassy Suites in East Peoria, IL, please dress casual. Memorials may be made to Santa’s Hospital Helpers.
