Obituary for Jerry Francis Watkins
Jerry Francis Watkins, 89, of Morton, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
He was born August 22, 1932, in Peoria, IL to Frank Joseph and Lou Belle Eastland Watkins.
He was preceded in death by his son, James “Jim” Watkins; daughter, Jeri Lynne “JL” Foster and wife, Joyce Watkins.
He is survived by his granddaughters, Dominique (Matt) Batchelor, Alexis Watkins, Mackenzie (Jon) Stoller and great-grandchildren, Ava Batchelor, Zoey Batchelor, Maya Stoller and Rayne Stoller.
Jerry was once the proud owner of A&W in Creve Coeur and sold insurance for Prudential. Later in life he found Jesus and joined St. Thomas Catholic Church. He was an avid soccer coach for years with St. Thomas Catholic School and Peoria Park District. He will be remembered as a loving grandfather “Popi” and will be missed by his grandchildren. He also enjoyed cheering on all sports from Notre Dame University. We know he is enjoying his favorite meal, a single steak burger with pickles and onions from Steak n’ Shake!
Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.
