Obituary for Jerry Braden
Jerry C. Braden 72, of Peoria passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. He was born in Peoria on June 28, 1940 to Carl and Ethel Andre Braden. He married Carol Harris in Bartonville on December 4, 1960, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Douglas (Kathy) Braden, Kimberly (Jason) Higdon and Nickolas (Priscilla) Braden all of Peoria; grandchildren, A’Livia, Dalton, Jacob, Jade, Kyle, Jeremiah and Caleb; great granddaughter, Hailey Grace; sister, Betty Braden of Farmington; brother, Larry (Maureen) Braden of Mapleton; sister in-law, Melody (Mike) Parmenter of Bartonville and several nieces and nephews. His parents; brother, Gerald and sister, Vivian Eilene preceded him in death. Jerry and Carol owned and operated Braden’s Pottstown Pub for eight years and he last worked as a grounds keeper for Peoria Park District at Glen Oak. He loved his family and was a hard worker. He loved western movies starring John Wayne, NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt and was an avid Bears fan. Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1704 S. East Lane, Peoria on Friday, January 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Breathe with a Purpose Cancer Fund-Raising Group in his name.
