Janet Esther Cookson, 81, of Forest City passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at Carle Health Pekin.
She was born March 21, 1943, in Red Bud to Carl and Louise Hofmann.
She married Donald B. Cookson; he preceded her in death October 29, 2017. Her parents and siblings, Joanne Hofmann, Janette Hofmann, Judith Hofmann and Ronald Hofmann also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Dale Cookson, Janet Cookson, Aletta (Danny) Cookson; son-in-law, John L. Bader; grandchildren, Tabatha (Joe) Schultz, Felicia (Cody) Anglin, Toni (Daniel) Bell, Dale (Kat) Cookson II, Heather (Stephen) Wilson, Justin (Tiffany) Hull, Samantha (Sean) Monroe, John N. Bader, Toby (Maddison) Davis, Damian (Madison) Harper, Ashton Monks; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and brother, Donald A. “Mouse” Hofmann.
Janet loved her family, grandchildren and cooking. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, playing cards, dice and smoking a good cigarette. She never met a stranger.
Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date.
