Obituary for James Schaffer
James F. Schaffer 78, of Wyoming, passed away May 3, 2014 at Richard Owens Hospice Home. He was born March10, 1936 in Princeville to Stanley and Lucille Schaffer. He married Sharon (Weaver) of Chillicothe on September 6, 1958. She survives. James lived in the Wyoming-Princeville areas working as a farmer and truck driver. He also worked at FMC in Wyoming and International Supply Co. in Edelstein. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Wyoming. He enjoyed helping his friends, and attending farm shows. He had a passion for John Deere tractors and semi trucks. James is survived by his 6 children: Jamie of rural Wyoming, Sherry (Tom) Schoen of Morton, Michelle of Arlington Heights, Scott of Washington, Paul of Hanna City, Ann Colwell of Chillicothe. His 7 grandchildren; Meghan, Andrea, John Schoen; Delaney Schaffer; Mallory Sherbeyn; Samantha and Averi Colwell. James was the oldest of 8 siblings. Surviving are 3 brothers; Stephen of Princeville, Phillip of Wyoming, Donald of Germantown. One sister Dorita Wurmnest of Bloomington. Several nieces, nephews also survive. He was proceeded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers; Dennis, Dale, Dean. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial mass will be held at St. Dominic Church in Wyoming at 11am on Wednesday May 21, 2014. Officiated by Father Patrick Collins of Douglas, Michigan, (a High school classmate and friend). A private family burial will take place after the service.
