Obituary for James Reed
James M. Reed, 84, of Canton passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at Farmington Country Manor. He was born March 26, 1934 in London Mills to Charles Baker and Blanche Marie Murphy Reed. He married Dixie L. Fidler; she preceded him in death June 10, 2015 after 62 years of marriage. His parents and siblings, Charles Burton Reed, Clifford Reed, Mary Briggs, Marilyn Cox; infant twin brothers and brother-in-law, Don Roberts also preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Pamela Lee (John) Raychel, Rickie James (Robbie) Reed, Mark Louis (Gloria) Reed; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Charlene (Bob) Bollinger, Carol Roberts, Tommy (Rose) Reed, Wayne (Nancy) Reed; sister-in-law, Arlene Reed-Laughary and many nieces and nephews. James worked for Caterpillar until retiring in 1992. He was a fantastic cook, he played and taught guitar, he was known for his cowboy hat and he never knew a stranger. He loved bowling, his pets but most of all his family. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Human Society in his name.
