Obituary for James Garrott
James Kearny Garrott Sr., 75, of Peoria, IL passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Monday August 27, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Jim was born in Peoria on May 4, 1937, son of Ashton and Doris Garrott. They preceded him in death. He married Barbara Conway on June 12, 1960 at University United Methodist Church in Peoria. She survives. He is also survived by his son, Jim (Tammy) Garrott Jr. of East Peoria; daughter, Jennifer (Jon) Bateman of Hanna City; brother, Jerry (Marile) Garrott of Coeur d’Alene, ID; sister, Joanne Long of Peoria and three grandchildren, Jon Conway Bateman, Mailys Bateman and Madelyn Garrott all of the Peoria area. He graduated from Peoria High School in 1955 and attended Bradley University. Jim was President of Garrott Jewelry and Deluxe Limousine Service. He was past Chairman of the Red Cross Heart of Illinois Blood Service Region. He was also past President of Central Illinois Bradley Alumni and was in the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Bradley. Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held. Memorials contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Blood Program or you may donate a pint of blood in his name.
