Obituary for James D. Prevatte, Jr.
James Dewey Prevatte, Jr. 76, of Peoria passed away on Sunday August 16, 2009 at his home. Born in Bennettsville, SC on December 29, 1932, the son of James and Ruby Ransom Prevatte. He is survived by his daughter Deloris Diane McMillen of Pekin, sons: Roy Allen Prevatte of Peoria, Johnny Walter Prevatte of Bandera, TX, sisters: Nina (Jim) Snyder of Peoria, Linda Emmery of CO, and his 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His parents and daughter Vickie Prevatte preceded him in death. James served in the Army during Viet Nam and was a machinist at the Brass Foundry in Peoria. He enjoyed bowling and video games and was a very fun loving and caring man. He touched the lives of everyone he knew. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday August 30, at 11am at the Glen Oak Park Pavilion in Peoria. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his family for expenses: in care of his son Roy. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
