Obituary for James Bordner
James Gordon Bordner “J.B.”, 63, of Peoria passed away peacefully after a long period of debilitating health issues on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 10:45 a.m. at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born July 4, 1950 in Canton, IL to George and Mary Bordner. He married Beverly A. Schaener October 4, 1974. He was preceded in death by his father, George Border and his brother, John. He leaves behind his wife and mother and two sisters, Susan Norvick and Patty Bordner and sister-in-law, Julie Bordner and brother-in-law, Bob Norvick. J.B. also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and his 3 kids (cats), Smokey, Callie and Nitro. J.B. joined the U.S. Navy serving from 1968-1972. He was an electrician by trade retiring in 2008. J.B.’s gift to all his family & friends was his deep understanding of life, death, forgiveness, honesty, responsibility, acceptance and gratitude. J.B. was a great metal artist, specializing in birds, cats, flowers, frogs, dogs and angels. If he could dream it, he could make it! J.B. celebrated 2 years sobriety and smoke free in July, proudly earning his 2 year gold coin. A witty and funny guy who believed life was a journey not a battle. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life/Cruise In will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Canton American Legion. Please bring your Hot Rods. There will be a light luncheon.
