Obituary for Jackie L. Clark
Jackie L. Clark, 79, of Morton, IL passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.
She was born September 3, 1944, in Charlotte, NC to Melvin Leon and Virginia L. McClain Grimes.
She married George Elbert Clark December 15, 1979, he preceded her in death December 10, 2010. Her parents; stepmother, Gertrude Grimes; sister-in-law, Tina Grimes and nephew, Nicholas Grimes also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brothers, Randy L. Grimes of Cuba, IL, Marlin L. Grimes of Pekin, IL and nieces and nephew, Jenny Orr of East Peoria, IL, Jessica Grimes of Pekin, IL, Chad Grimes of East Peoria, IL and Raquey Sprangel of Plano, TX.
Jackie worked for Komatsu in Peoria, IL for 40 years before retiring in April 2003.
She was a member of Tri-County Tropical Fish Society for over 50 years and was editor of Fish Times for 45 years. She loved crafts and she knitted, crocheted, and quilted her entire life. She also loved flowers and gardening, especially lilies and dogwoods. She had a special love for all animals.
Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion in Morton, IL.
Memorials can be made to Freedom Paws Service Dogs Foundation in Chillicothe, IL in her name.
