Obituary for Ivan Woods
Ivan E. Woods, of Pekin, IL passed away at 8:30 pm on Wednesday October 5, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 30, 1940, the son of Virgil A. and Lula (Wooding) Woods. He married Lucy (Carter) Darling on November 5, 1976, in Pekin, IL. She survives, also surviving are one daughter, Cheryl (Roger) Clayville of Bentley, KS; one son, Bryan E. Woods of Los Angeles, CA; two stepsons, Todd L. Darling of Pekin, IL and Rodney L. (Janiese) Darling of Delavan, IL; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; one brother, William (Yoshiko) Woods of Killeen, TX; and one sister, Mary Lou (Joseph) Gardner of Bartonville, IL. He also leaves behind his three four legged friends, Tulsa, Cowboy and Stewie. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Wayne Woods in 1975, Arthur Woods in 1983, and Virgil Woods in 2009. Ivan was quite the story-teller and loved doing card tricks for friends. He enjoyed working in the Oklahoma and Texas oil fields during the 1980’s. He and Lucy moved back home to Illinois in 1989. Ivan was a long time member of the Pekin Moose Lodge. Per Ivan’s request cremation has been accorded and a Memorial Service will be held Tuesday October 11, 2011 at Abts Mortuary in Pekin at 10 am.
