Obituary for Ivan E. Sholl
Ivan E. Sholl, 65, of Bartonville passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born on June 4, 1957 in Galesburg to Chester and Evelyn (Allen) Sholl and was raised and nurtured by Earl and Evelyn Garrard.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Sholl; sister, Patricia Roth; and nephew, Kenny Roth.
Ivan is survived by his wife, Linda; children, John Sholl, Joseph (Corella) Sholl, Melissa Sholl, and Matt Sholl; siblings, Janet (Tom) Yeatts, Yvonne Burney, and Ronnie (Tina) Garrard. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
After graduating from Manual High School in 1975, Ivan completed the Caterpillar Tractor Co. electrician apprenticeship program in 1978. He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for a total of 30 years both as an electrician and a facility engineer, until retiring from Caterpillar Inc. at the beginning of 2016.
Over the years, Ivan enjoyed spending time and conversing with family and friends, working in his yard, fishing, and tinkering with electronics. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Cub Scout Pack 208 Pinewood Derby and the Boy Scout Troop 200 Chicken Noodle Dinner.

Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 3rd from 1 - 5 pm at the American Legion Post 979 in Bartonville, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
