Obituary for Ilo Norene Clifford
Ilo Norene Clifford 97, of Pekin passed away on Saturday March 14, 2009 at Pekin Hospital. Born in Bader, IL on September 18, 1911 to George and Ada Riebling Stauffer. She married Edward Clifford in Palatine on December 3, 1949, he preceded her in death on September 11, 1967. Also preceding in death were her sister Velma and brothers Harold and Galen. She is survived by her sister Evelyn Humphrey of Peoria, 3 nieces, 4 nephews and several great and great great nieces and nephews. Ilo graduated from Astoria High School in 1929 and worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Co. retiring on May 1, 1975. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where she was a member of the Blue Circle and the Council of Catholic Women. A memorial mass will be held for her on Thursday March 19, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate. Burial of cremains will be in South Fulton Cemetery in Astoria at a later date. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
