Obituary for Howard Dean
Howard A. Dean 82, of Hanna City passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Born in Ft. Atkinson, WI to Jesse and Katherine Ellefson Dean on December 24, 1930, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Scungio in Cranston, RI on July 24, 1954. He is survived by his wife, Betty of Hanna City; children, Michael (Debra) Dean of Princeville, Teresa Field of Rockford, John (Christine) Dean of Peoria, Aelred “David” Dean of Atlanta, GA, Christopher (Stephanie) Dean of Brimfield and Angela (Todd) Wright of Peoria. Also surviving are his 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 6 step-great grandchildren. His parents and brothers, Ralph and Robert preceded him in death. Howard served in the U.S. Navy and worked as an Electrician for Local 34, IBEW for 55 years. He was a member of the Italian American Society of Peoria and Mt. Olive Missionary Church in Peoria where he served as head Deacon and greeter. He also taught Conversational English as a second language at Woodland Baptist Church in Peoria. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. with visitation two hours prior at Mt. Olive Missionary Church in Peoria with military rites following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to OSF Hospice Homecare, Richard L. Owens Hospice Home or Mt. Olive Missionary Church in his name.
