Obituary for Henry "Hank" A. Gass
Henry “Hank” A. Gass 76, of 444 S. Parkway Dr. Pekin passed away on Wednesday May 14, 2008 at his residence. Born in Peoria on Sept 2, 1931 to Henry and Anna Stein Gass. He is Survived by his daughters Debbie (Pat) Murphy of Canton, Joni (Scott) Andrews of Tremont, Sandy (Fred) Garfield of Mexico, MO, sons Mel (Donna) Gass and John Gass both of Creve Coeur, brother Leon (Sue) Gass of Henry and niece Sue (Larry) Murphy of Texas. He also leaves behind his 14 grand and 16 great grandchildren. His parents and sister preceded him in death. Hank served in the Army during the Korean War and worked as a Bottler for Pabst Brewery, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the American Legion in Creve Coeur and a member of the Pekin Moose Lodge. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Monday May 19, at the UAW high rise 444 S. Parkway Dr. at 6 p.m. Pastor Dana McNeil will officiate and burial of cremains will be at a later date in the War Veteran Cemetery in Pekin. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
