Obituary for Helene Garlock
Helene G. Garlock, 83, of Pekin formerly of Manito passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She was born August 10, 1929 in Chicago to Kenneth William and Grace Harriet Banks Bond. She married Paul E. Garlock June 6, 1947 in Allegan, MI. He preceded her in death March 10, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Garlock; parents and sister, Beverly Breese. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (John Metz) Garlock of Pekin, Carol (Gary) Hilgendorf of Pekin; son, Carey Garlock of Pekin; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Helene worked for Pekin Hospital retiring in 1992. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin. She loved her family and will be greatly missed. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice in her name. Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held at a later date.
